This build started with one goal in mind, to build a pro drag radial race car using only the BEST parts with no expense spared! When one asks what motor to use when looking for the most iconic engine to propel this Beast of a Mustang you look no further than the legendary Boss 429... But to do this car justice you build a One-Off All Aluminum 600 cubic inch Boss9 with Holley Dominator Electronic Fuel Injection, 1 of 1 Hogan sheet metal Intake plumbed by Induction Solutions, 2 Dry Nitrous Fogger kits from Nitrous Outlet, along with a Accufab Throttlebody, C and C Aluminum block, Windberg Billet Crank, Oliver Rods, Diamond Pistons (gas ported), Titanium Valves, Holley coil-packs, one-off cam sensor for individual timing control, the list goes on and on...
The body of this Mustang is all steel Ford sheetmetal (minus a fiber glass hood). The chassis is a fresh NHRA 25.2 / 25.3 certified chromoly Tube Chassis. The exterior paint is slick and shows extremely well. The Allan Pitman Racecars rear suspension was built around a custom set of remote reservoir 16" shocks from Mark Menscer. The front suspension consists of a custom set of Strange spindle mount struts with pro mod valving along with a custom rack and pinion steering system. AP Race Cars also tackled the impressive Carbon Fiber Floors, Tubs, custom driver seat and interior sheet metal. All the lights (both inside and out) on this car work. The wiring is a "work of art" on its own but was methodically designed to keep it simple.
The fit and finish of this one-off build is more along the lines of a show car rather than race car. The attention to detail runs from front to back. However, this car is not just a pretty face... This car is a extremely comfortable 4 second 1/8th mile race car. This car weighs in at 2,850 lbs with a 200 lb driver. As stated this car is fresh with only 8 passes. This aloud the car to be fine tuned to excel as a race car or if so desired, still clean enough to pass as a show car. All the tunes used will come with the car. All the of the safety equipment is new and in date (Simpson harness, Simpson Nitro Parachute, Stroud Window Net, and Fire Suppression System).
